Socio-emotional Assessment

This assessment evaluates a child/ adolescent’s social and emotional functioning and it provides diagnostic clarification to inform treatment and supports.

How do you know if you need this assessment?

Important things to watch for is whether your child/ youth has had a change in interests and generally feeling down, losing interest in activities they used to enjoy, and/ or has had a hard time sleeping (or sleeping too much) and a shift in appetite.

As well, if your child/ youth is feeling extremely worried/ anxious about things (e.g., thinking a lot about what may happen, worrying about what others may be thinking about them), this assessment will help better understand these concerns.

What to expect?

Assessment sessions include clinical interviews and observations, as well as information from the school and family.
