Navneet Rai, B.A., B.Ed., M.A. Candidate

Hello, my name is Navneet. I am a registered psychotherapist (qualifying), a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT). I began my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University in 2020 while working full-time as a Secondary Special Education Resource Teacher with the Peel District School Board. I have close to twenty years of educational experience working extensively with exceptional and non-exceptional students and their families requiring special education services in schools. As an educator, I have collaborated with students and their families in the consultation and development of Individual Education Plans and participated as a member of the Identification, Placement and Review Committee. I have extensive experience working with various abilities including Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in an educational setting. My passion for collaborating with young people on their journey to discover themselves and their abilities has led me to pursue further education in counselling to support academic challenges, performative task anxiety, social anxiety and navigating life transitions. I am committed to creating a safe and understanding environment to nurture resiliency while focusing on strengths to overcome barriers so that adolescents continue to build their confidence in navigating their future.

On a personal note, I am a mom of two wonderful children and navigating the teen years with my eldest. I enjoy working out, being in nature, travelling, and learning from different people and experiences.
