Ana Taveira, MSW, RSW

Ana Taveira is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Ana has been working with children and youth in mental health for over 10 years in a variety of capacities including psychiatric treatment facilities, within the education system, child welfare and child and family services, and currently in hospital-based mental health services outpatient program.

Ana has extensive experience working with children with Autism, LGBTQ2IA+ and gender non-conforming youth, adolescents managing symptoms of emotional dysregulation, depression and anxiety as well as other complex mental health challenges. Ana is well-versed in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is passionate about social justice, reducing stigma surrounding mental health and supporting youth and their families to develop the skills and insight to improve their current challenges. She brings to her practice a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive framework and critical reflexivity in order to continue to learn and work from a place that is non-judgmental, empathetic and compassionate.
